Our curriculum is designed to help you achieve excellence in dental assisting. To successfully complete the program, students must maintain a grade of C (75) or better in all dental assisting courses. As a full-time program, students are required to take a full course load each semester. To qualify for externships and final exams, you must achieve a 75% pass rate in all courses and maintain 90% attendance in labs, except for excused absences.
Hands-on experience is a crucial part of our educational process. Students serve as both clinicians and patients during laboratory courses, including dental materials lab and chairside dental assisting lab. Instructors will provide ergonomic guidance to ensure optimal patient and clinician positioning, preparing you for real-world scenarios.
The Admissions Office and the Dental Assisting Coordinator will share up-to-date information about the program and answer questions about the curriculum, program expectations, support services, and the admissions process. Attendance at an information session within one year of application is required for all applicants to the Dental Assisting program.
